Dennis M. Breen III is the founding Partner at Breen Olson & Trenton, LLP. During the first ten years of his career, Mr. Breen focused on obtaining an MBA in finance and a JD in Law from Fordham University while working at Chase Manhattan Bank in New York, successfully managing portfolios of stocks and bonds in the Trust Investment Department of the Bank. He assisted in developing the criteria for establishing a strategic planning department for high net worth individuals. A second area of focus began when his proficiency as a real estate lawyer was sought by a trust customer of Chase to move to Arizona to resolve issues with a large real estate parcel in Arizona. Subsequently, he began to practice law involving real estate development, small business corporations, and bankruptcy privately for the next twelve years.
From 1993 to 2001, he worked as an in-house real estate lawyer with SunChase Holdings Inc. as director of legal services for the company that acquired over 550 properties in 22 states. He became involved in the legal and financial aspects of developing large housing community projects in California and France, and commercial real estate projects in South Korea and Thailand. From 2001 to 2005 Mr. Breen was part owner and general counsel of a high-tech software application company.
In 2005 he opened his own practice focusing on those areas where he developed particular skill sets dealing with distressed assets and creating value for companies and high net worth individuals. Based on that experience, the lawyers of the practice focus on business strategy and capitalization, commercial and individual bankruptcy, real estate due diligence, acquisition and sale transactions.

After graduating from Harvard Law School John spent the first sixteen years of his career with the firm of Bell Boyd & Lloyd, a large law firm in Chicago that has recently merged into the international law firm of K & L Gates. He was a partner with that firm for the last 8 years of his association, practicing almost exclusively in the area of real estate law, focused primarily on development projects.
After being in solo practice for a few years, in 1990, John joined the Resolution Trust Corporation (the “RTC”). The RTC oversaw the liquidation and winding up all of virtually all of the savings and loan associations in the State of Arizona. He stayed with that federal agency until it closed the Phoenix office after three years, at which time he began a 12 year term as an in-house lawyer with a private investment company that purchased one of the largest portfolios of real estate assets ever sold by the RTC. During his years with the RTC, and subsequently with the private investment company of SunChase Holdings, he began to spend more and more time practicing law in bankruptcy and real estate workout areas, in addition to the more traditional real estate work. The projects that he was involved with varied from housing subdivisions in 10 different states, to commercial property in Phoenix, to an international development in France.
In 2010, John joined practices with Dennis Breen, forming Breen & Olson, which later became Breen Olson & Trenton, LLP.
